Caractéristiques du jeu
En bref
- Thème : Players are bees who have spotted a giant marmalade jar and want to be the first to land on it. To reach the jar, they must fly from flower to flower by playing matching cards.
- Mécanique : Race game based on the so called « short memory »
- Originalité : While the race aspect of the game is straightforward, the core mechanism lies in how players acquire the cards they need to move
Comment se déroule une partie ?
Each turn consists of 3 phases:
– Decks building
– Deck selection
– Movement
*Decks Building*
The current Dealer creates as many decks as there are players. Each deck consists of four cards stacked face-up, one at a time, with only the top card visible:
• The Dealer places the first card of each deck.
• Then, the second card is placed on top of each deck.
• Next, the third card is placed.
• Finally, the fourth card is placed.
*Deck Selection*
Starting with the Dealer and proceeding clockwise, each player shall pick one of the available decks.
Players must try to choose the deck most suitable for their strategy by remembering the cards beneath the top ones and avoiding Mud cards. While the Dealer has the advantage of selecting first, subsequent players will need a backup plan as options dwindle.
*Movement*
Starting with the Dealer and proceeding clockwise, each player moves their bee by playing Flower cards from their hand.
*End of round and hand limit*
At the end of the round:
• Each player may keep up to four cards in their hand for the next round.
• Excess cards must be discarded, but Mud cards cannot be discarded!
Finally, the Dealer token is passed to the next player clockwise.
